Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a specialised form of massage therapy designed to support active individuals, athletes, and those with physically demanding lifestyles. It focuses on relieving muscular tension, improving circulation, enhancing mobility and flexibility, and supporting injury prevention and recovery.

Sports Massage works therapeutically into deeper muscle layers to address soft tissue dysfunctions, tightness, and trigger points through controlled pressure, stretching, and release techniques. It may be applied before or after physical activity to enhance performance and assist recovery.

OBJECTIVE

This course aims to develop professional competence in Sports Massage, enabling learners to safely and effectively deliver sports massage treatments to the general public and active clients. Upon completion, learners will gain the practical and theoretical skills required to apply sports massage techniques using correct posture, pressure control, and professional treatment planning. Graduates will be prepared to pursue employment opportunities in the local and global spa, wellness, fitness, and sports support industries, and may also work independently by offering sports massage services within professional practice boundaries.
